The History of the Sasiprapa Muay Thai Camp
The Sasiprapa Camp was started by the Father of Thakoon Pongsupha - Grand Master Chanai Phongsupha.
Grand Master Chanai lived near Wat Sommanatviharn (near Rajadamnern Stadium) where there was no gym. He spoke to the Phra and was granted permission to teach Muay Thai in the adjacent fields. The word soon spread of this new and unorthodox gym and many trainers sent their fighters to train here after the then Master Chanai produced his first champion fighter.
Many more champions were to follow thus requiring the need for a full time gym - this is the same gym where you will be training in Bangkapi!.
Originally called the Osothsapha Camp after their then sponsor, Grand Master Chanai changed it in 1975 to Sasiprapa, after the most famous Army General Ekadaj Sasiprapa.
General Sasiprapa was Grand Master Chanai's boss and friend and a very influential and powerful figure throughout Thailand.
The Sasiprapa Camp is now in the hands of Grand Master Chanai's eldest son - Thakoon Pongsupha. Thakoon still runs the Camp in the traditional way as taught by his Father, if you'd like to experience true Muay Thai and have the experience of a lifetime - come to Sasiprapa.
